Sports Psychology

Sports psychology is an essential component of athletic development. Our sports psychological guidance focuses on strengthening mental resilience and optimizing performance for athletes of all levels.

Through scientifically-based techniques and personal guidance, we help athletes overcome mental obstacles and reach their full potential. We focus on developing mental skills such as focus, stress management, and competition preparation.

Mindset and personal advice

Our approach is suitable for both individual athletes (tennis, athletics, cycling, etc.) and team athletes (football, handball, etc.), from recreational to elite level.

We offer support for various challenges such as:

  • Performance optimization
  • Injury recovery and rehabilitation
  • Competition anxiety and stress management
  • Mental resilience and self-confidence

These services are provided by an experienced sports psychologist, Dieter Bellemans.

In 2017, Dieter graduated with a Master’s degree in Psychology from KU Leuven. Driven by his passion for the human mind behind the athlete, he went on to specialise in sports and performance psychology. His approach at GRIT is grounded in a scientific framework but is deeply rooted in practical experience. Dieter has experience in coaching athletes across various disciplines, working on topics such as stress regulation, focus management, motivation and the mental impact of long-term rehabilitation programmes.

At GRIT, Dieter is ready to support both individual athletes and teams on their journey towards mental excellence, with a focus on striking a balance between well-being and peak performance.
